DIY over-voltage protection for your rig

Few pictures to show you how to use 2 PTC resettable fuses and a 14V zener diode to protect your rig.

When the reverse bias breakdown voltage is exceeded, the avalanche breakdown makes a shortcut between the 2 connectors connected to the power supply, the current is reaching the current trip threshold of the PTC which cut the power. As soon the voltage is going below the breakdown voltage, the PTC is released and the ‘fuse’ resets.

The PTC I selected is able to take the high current the Lithium batteries can provide (up to 70A).
